To me the word sounds a lot like “terror” in the first half of the word, so I thought it’d be perfect for an evil sort of fear mongering/ manipulating kind of idea!
"@#$%peace#$%!" really caught my eye. The use of specifically computational images to describe the words of nature threw my head into a new space. I notice that the symbols are not in your hand written poem. Did that come to you as you were typing it out?
Martin, first of all thank you so much for reading and I’m so happy it spoke to you like that. To answer your question: YES! I think it’s Josh Datko where I heard “the medium is the message” or something along the lines of that, and whenever I transpose my poems from paper to online text, I find it always changes one way or another hahaha. I found inspiration for that specific phrase from the Fallout series whenever you hack a terminal. It’s always confusing scanning for chunks in the code and figuring out which word is the right passcode, and I figured the clusterfuck of symbols could really shroud the word peace and muddy its connotation a little bit.
